Concepting
During this phase, we tried to determine the look of the book. Did we want the homes to feel like tiny houses? Have a traditional cottage feel or more whimsical? We ended up settling on homes made of various man-made and natural objects.
Rough Sketch Phase
We settled on object houses for a whimsical, fun and unique feel. We decided to have these homes be integrated into the objects as much as possible, and try and tell a story about the fairies living there.
Clean Sketch Phase
Refined each sketch with detail and added personality to each image. Finalized the designs and got them ready for our Inker!
Inking Supervision
Supervised and provided feedback during the Inking and Shading process completed by Candice Janney.

During this phase, we looked at previous mandala books and tried to figure out how to make this book an improvement! How can we make this book stand out to more traditional mandala’s?

Providing the inking for this project, I was careful to refine everything to the best it could be!
